It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 8th Biomedical Research Graduate Student Symposium, organized by the students of the Irell & Manella Graduate School of Biological Sciences. I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the graduate student committee for organizing this year Biomedical Research Graduate Student Symposium and including the Irell & Manella Graduate Schools 30th Anniversary.
This year's symposium we are excited that the students are including our Alumni’s and highlighting their various career paths for Ph.D. students, addressing wellness, and include a keynote address by Dr. Jack Shively, One of the founders of the Graduate School. In addition, to our distinguished speakers, graduate students from local academic institutions will have the opportunity to showcase their research through oral and poster presentations.
I would like to take this moment to express my gratitude to all participants for joining us at this years Symposium. Your presence not only reflects your dedication to building a collaborative and passionate research community at City of Hope but also demonstrates your resilience in overcoming the hurdles presented by recent circumstances. I hope that the experiences you gain from this symposium will serve as the foundation for enduring collaborations or as a catalyst for inspiration in your future projects. By coming together in events like this, we foster a vibrant community of scholars and contribute significantly to the advancement of knowledge and discovery.
